Ten’yoshi is a tempura restaurant. Tempura is Japanese-style fries. Ingredients of tempura are bought directly from Nishiki Market, the most famous market in Kyoto. They are selected carefully everyday. The master fries shrimps, conger eels, 5 kinds of vegetables, and so on in front of you! It is very exciting to watch that. All food prices fluctuate with seasons.
Long history has created the restaurant’s great traditional atmosphere. The restaurant has only counter and 12 seats. Please make a reservation before you come. Ten’yoshi faces the main street and is located near the sushi restaurant Ran. If you want to visit Ten’yoshi, find Ran and its big red lantern first. The noren (shop curtain) of Ten’yoshi which has come down from generation to generation welcomes you.
