Decoding Kyoto Project 2008 The Sento - Japanese Public Bathhouses in Kyoto

Kinsei-yu is a unique sento which makes use of firewood as the fuel. Usually most sentos use gasoline now, but Kinsei-yu is particular about heating the bath by burning firewood.

Kinsei-yu has medicinal herbal bath, electric bath, salty bath (female only) and so on. These baths are popular and the number of customers is increasing every day. Please imagine the sound of burning firewood (pop-pop!) under these baths, and then you can feel wonderful warmth.

Kinsei-yu is located on Koin St., and close to Toyoko Inn and Ark-Hotel. If you get lost, don't panic. Please ask neighbors the way to Kinsei-yu. Or, if you like, you can enjoy taking a walk in the alleyways around Kinsei-yu.
